The end-of-race prize draw, no drum, no slips of paper.
No more hunting for an innocent hand or calling out numbers nobody recognises. A volunteer opens the draw on their phone with a QR code, presses "Draw" and the bib number appears on screen in big digits, with the runner's name underneath. Chance decides, no number comes up twice and the list of winners is saved.
The prize draw: the moment that drags on forever.
The race is over, everyone's tired and wants to go home, and the usual ritual begins:
The draw drags on forever: every prize means minutes of microphone, paper and waiting, while the crowd drifts away.
Someone has to find an innocent hand in the crowd and talk a child into coming up on stage.
Someone has to cut out and fold slips of paper with every number the night before. And there's always one missing or one repeated.
You need to find a raffle drum (or a box, a helmet, a bagβ¦) and remember to bring it on the day.
A number is called out and nobody reacts: the winner can't remember their bib number and it has to be read out three times.
It goes to someone who never even picked up their bib, or who dropped out and has already left: back into the drum you go.
The slip of a winner who wasn't there goes back into the drum by mistake and the same number comes up twice.
In the end nobody wrote down who won what, and then come the doubts and the messages asking.
With CronoMeta chance picks the winner, in front of everyone: each number comes up only once and the winner's name appears on screen.
Everything you can do
One button and done
A huge round Draw button: the bib number appears in big digits after a few seconds of suspense, with the runner's name underneath.
Only among those who are there
Before you start, you set the rule for the draw: everyone entered with a bib, only those who collected their bib or only those who finished the race. Everyone who meets it has the same chance.
Raffle tickets too
A raffle with tickets? Choose another number range, from whatever number you like to whatever number you like, and the number comes up without a name.
A QR code for the volunteer
Any volunteer opens the draw screen by scanning a QR code, with no account or passwords. Perfect for doing it on stage, in front of everyone.
Random and cheat-proof
The number is drawn at random by the server: nobody can choose it or change it, and one that has already come up won't come up again, even if you reject it or the page reloads.
List of winners
Save and continue records the winner and Reject and continue discards them if they're not there. At the end, the list of winners with their bib number and name.
Draws you can run with the tool
π Your sponsors' prizes
Hand out the prizes from the brands that support you in front of the whole crowd: each prize, one tap of the button and the winner's name on screen. More visibility for the sponsor and nobody leaves early.
π A prize for those who finish
With "only those who finished" you reward whoever crossed the finish line, not whoever signed up and didn't turn up. It works with the times from CronoMeta's mobile timing.
π½ Only among those who collected their bib
If you hand out bibs at the QR bib handout desk, draw only among those who are really at the race. Those who didn't come aren't in the draw.
ποΈ Charity raffles and tickets
For a charity raffle or the club lunch: enter the ticket numbers (for example, 1 to 500) and draw without a drum, with the number nice and big.
π Group runs and fun runs
A quick draw at the end keeps people around until the very last moment, and it takes as long as pressing a button.
Ready for race day
- β The volunteer gets in with the QR code or the link you have in the panel: no account needed.
- β A dark screen with a huge number that's easy to see from a distance, and that doesn't switch off during the draw.
- β In races with several distances you choose "All" or one distance at the top, just like at the bib handout desk.
- β If the connection drops or the page reloads, the number on screen stays put: nothing gets redrawn behind anyone's back.
- β If the link reaches the wrong person, you renew it from the panel and the old one stops working.
- β The winners are saved in the panel, with their bib number, name and distance, so you can hand out the prizes or publish them afterwards.
- β Nothing to buy: it's in the Marketing tab of each race's panel.
It's this easy
In your race's panel, open Marketing β Sorteos (raffles).
Choose the rule for the draw: with a bib, bib collected, finishers or another number range.
Give the QR code to the volunteer who'll run the draw.
Press Draw, save or reject each winner and at the end show the list of winners.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the raffle tool cost?
Nothing. For a limited time and as a promotion, raffles are included free in every CronoMeta race, with no module to buy.
Can the same number come up twice?
No. Every number that comes up, whether saved or rejected, won't come up again. The draw is done by the server, so reloading the page or opening it on two phones changes nothing.
What if the winner isn't there?
Press "Reject and continue": that number is discarded and another one comes up straight away. Only the ones you save go on the list of winners.
Can I draw only among those who finished the race?
Yes, if you time the race with CronoMeta: anyone with a time or laps who hasn't dropped out is in. You can also draw only among those who collected their bib.
Does it work for raffles with tickets?
Yes. Choose "another number range" and enter the first and last number; the screen shows the number without a name, like a raffle ticket.
Does the volunteer need an account?
No. They open the draw screen with the QR code or the link from the panel. If you want it to stop working, renew the link and the old one is cancelled.
What if my race has several distances?
On the draw screen you choose "All" or a specific distance at the top, just like at the bib handout desk. Anyone who has already come up won't come up again in any of them.
Make the prize draw the best moment at the end of the race, not the longest.
